You just got branded!

Well. TBH, I just got branded, or at least, I hired someone to prepare branding collateral for me. And I couldn’t be more pleased. I used www.CoverMeDarling.com to give me a complete look and feel that I thought matched me as an author without being too cheesy. (I didn’t want feathers or inkwells or crows). I write both urban fantasy and litfic so it needed to just be about me and how I view myself.

I feel like she nailed it.

But…..Ummm.

Now I have to figure out how/when/why to use all that gorgeous collateral. LOL. If you have collateral for your branding and are struggling to figure out great places to use it (like me) here are some ideas.

  • Use the logo as your fav icon on your website.

A fav icon is the cool pic that shows in the URL bar and shows up as bookmarks.

  • Use the logo as part of your email signature.

As part of my package, my designer provided a signature logo, so I just added the graphic to my gmail signature. I opted to make it small, and voila! Looks amazing

      • Log in to your gmail.
      • Pick the widget icon at the top right
      • Select settings, make sure you’re on GENERAL, and scroll down to signatures.
  • Incorporate the colors and fonts in your newsletter templates

This is an obvious one, but having the font names and the hex color numbers for the colors in my branding, along with comp color choices was a Godsend. I use ActiveCampaign and LOVE it. (I am affiliated with them so if you click and decide to sign up, I get a few wee pennies) but that’s not why I love it. I have the ability to set conditional text and pictures, tag my contacts based on what they click, set goals and track them, make my own templates, create drips, keep contacts in multiple lists without being doublecharged….oh the list goes on and on. It costs more than some of the providers but I don’t plan to move any time soon.

  • Use the colors and graphics to make your Pinterest pins stand out and adhere to your brand.

I am spending more time on Pinterest these days and with the help of Tailwind, I’m able to schedule important pins during times when I know I’ll be busy (Like launch times) I am under consideration for Tailwind affiliation but that shouldn’t stop you from trying them for free if you Pin any amount.
