About this ebook

She let a mortal man live. Now it might be the death of her.

When a human man catches Shana neutralizing yet another threat to her pack in a dark alley, she decides to let him go. It's an act of mercy that will cost her dearly.

She finds her father murdered, and her brothers missing, and the property swarmed by hired mercenaries. Led by that same man from the back alley. She's ready to exact vengeance, but quickly discovers there's more to the stranger than merely hired muscle.

The real threat is the person who hired him in the first place, and while it's too late to save her alpha, it's not too late to save her young brothers. If she wants to keep them safe, she'll need to submit to the new ruthless new, ruthless alpha.

The trouble is, she's not the submissive type…

This is a short but good PNR read that is well-paced and easy to read. The heroine is intelligent, kicks butt, and is the enforcer of her pack. Mistakes are made, danger is present, suspense builds, and the book ends on a cliffhanger. I look forward to more in this series. I found it entertaining. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Shana is the assassin for her wolf pack. Her father is the Alpha. Shana has had to kill a young hunter each night for six nights in a row which is unusual so when she gets back to pack lands she goes immediately to the Alpha to let him know. Unfortunately, Shana sees the guards and her mentor dead on the grass in front of the mansion the Alpha lives in. She is dragged into the mansion by a man named Jeb and sees her foster-brother Caleb with the head of the Alpha in his hand. Caleb is delusional, thinking he can mate Shana even though they are not fated. This short story has action, betrayal, and ends in a cliffhanger. Very Highly recommended.

I want a Haladie knife. It looks awesome! Caleb seems to be an arrogant S.O.B. I want to see him get his comeuppance. Should be quite satisfying. Shana is in serious trouble and I can’t wait to find out how she gets out of it. I am going to love this series!

About the author

Thea is a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling Author. She used to have a black lab at her feet when she wrote, warming up the calves. It can be cold in rural Nova Scotia. Now it's just a cuppa tea keeping her warm.

Whether she's finding ways to lure Isabella Hush into the Shadow Bazaar or throwing the switch on a new monster, her urban fantasy pulses with dark themes and action-packed intrigue. Her characters are always deeply wounded creatures struggling for redemption. The romance is slow-burn but worth it, and the humor just might have a touch of Canadiana. She's a huge fan of Patricia Briggs and Dannika Dark and hopes you'll enjoy slipping into the skin of the characters she's created.
